Salam and hi everyone,

Hows your Ramadhan so far? Mine is ok. I miss the food at home. Here they dont have enough variety food that suit my taste bud. I really want to go home for food haha At times, the days pass so fast but another time it took forever just to get pass an hour. We start fasting at 3am and breakfasting at 7pm. There was one time I miss the sahur time, I felt so dizzy and weak. I hope I will never do that again, at least had 10 mins time to eat dates and drink some water.

Oh well, onto todays post I want to share on how to prepare for a good week ahead. I've been having hard time to adapt here for some reason. Compare to last time I was here, this time I feel totally disconnected and no desired to do anything. All I want to do is be home, reading and watch movie. But, I figure I need to do something to change that. So here are some preparations I do to start off the week on the right foot.

Prepare a Week Worth of Attire.

Hong Kong is very crowded with people and limited in spaces which mean you need to pay fortune to have better living space. I pay fairly amount of money to live in flatshare and in city. Even though the flat has kitchen and bathroom, everything else need to shove in our own room. Which mean I dont have space to put my iron board and iron. So I just bought the travel iron and iron it on my bed. 
So to cut on some time hustling in the morning, I like to iron and prepare the clothes during the weekend. I'll pick a set of 5 days outfit and iron for the one that needed to be ironed. Each morning I only have to choose which set of clothes that I want to wear.

Meal Prep.

I love to do this on the weekend so then I wont spend a lot of time in the kitchen during the week. Its either chopping up the veggies or prepare the actual meal. Especially now we are in Ramadhan month, I will cook a week worth of Sahur meal. I eat light for Iftar as I dont want to get sleepy during Tarawikh. Then I'll eat again something light like some fruits and nuts before going to bed.
If its not Ramadhan I will cook for the week as week. I will eat alternately for lunch or dinner as some days I will want to eat out with my friends. Its save me lots of money and I know for sure that I'm eating halal food. It might not be the healthiest food option but its a working progress to learn about food and the nutrients. Or I will chopped most of the ingredients like veggies, potato, onions, chicken or meat so that when I'm cooking I can just grab it from the fridge and start cooking right away. I love cooking but since I'm cooking for myself I like to prepare something fast, easy and simple. I just eat to survive and function during the day hehe

Prepare to Wake up Early for Some Me Time.

Even though now is Ramadhan month, I still love to wake up a bit early to take time to get ready so that I can start my work straight away when I get to the office. If its during normal days, I will have my coffee and breakfast first at home or I will go to the office early to buy my breakfast and having it while setting up the working mood.


Light Exercise in the Morning.

If you are not fitness fan then this is for you. Choose a morning yoga (from Youtube) or running for 10-15 mins to warm up your muscle. I hate running so I opt out for yoga exercises. I tried to do this right after I wake up and before the shower. Its better if you can do full body exercise. I've done this for a year last time and I had more energy on day-to-day basis, my body feels good and I feels better emotionally. It give you positive mindset that you already achieve something for the day. I really want to get back into gym or join morning classes but that need to wait for now. I am someone who needs to join classes in order to exercise regularly. If not, I will do it just 5 mins a week. I really have no motivation for that and always find a time to sleep more.

Reading or Listening to Podcast

Do this while you are getting ready. In the morning when you are starting your day, try listen to something informative or something that can make you start thinking. This is still new to me. I still trying to train my habits on listening to podcast or storybooks. I like to read to have better imagination and I found that listening always make my mind wonders. I am not someone who can do multiple things at one time. Once I focus on one thing, I forgot about the others. I cant listen to audiobook while cleaning because I will totally lost the story while focusing on cleaning haha How annoying is that?

Positive Mindset

Last but not least is to have positive mindset that today will be good and better than yesterday. Even though there are lots of works await at the office, things will be ok. Whatever that will be happen todays is already been set up. We just need to learn to understand why its happen and navigate to live by it. Being optimist is not my strong value but I try to remind myself each day that 'Today is a good day! Thank you for another day of living.' Life is just about the series of problem solving, so worried accordingly, try your best to solve it and let go of the things that our of your control. Just know that you tried your best already and if its meant to be yours it will be yours. This reminder not only for you but definitely for myself as well.
