How you guys doing? I'm doing ok. So, last weekend my aunt and her family decided to go to Melaka just for the weekend. She called at 11am and asked if I want to join them. Being single and have no friend I said Yes! haha So I just have an hour to film my weekend wechat video, to pack and get ready. We depart to Melaka around 12 at noon.
We had our lunch at nearby Ayam Kampung restaurant then straight to Melaka. Since its impromptu plan, we haven't booked a place to stay yet. So once we arrive in the city, we decided to have some drinks and dessert.
Truly Two Cafe
We just googled cafe in Melaka then this one was the nearest. Well, short review. The drinks we ordered were good but the service was not the best. Didn't feel welcome at all. We literally standing at the entrance couple minutes and no one greets us. The waiters are there standing and look at us. I was like, 'Seriously?!' The interior so empty and they put the table mostly for two. So when we come we in we look around and debating either or not we gonna put the table together and the staff just standing there still. Then we saw empty table with few more seat at the way back. We sit and ordered. Oh ya, guess what. They recycled the order sheet. We need to write the order in the piece of paper and order it at the cashier, and we can see on the paper the pencil's mark been erased and recycled. Not professional at all. They might as well skip that part and ask the customer to make an order at the counter. But nonetheless, I like the exterior of this place. Might not coming back because people can get Diabetes just looking at their menu. Full of high sugar and sweet!
1825 Hotel Gallery
Then we book a place name 1825 Hotel Gallery over Agoda.com. We went straight there, check in and performed our prayer before heading back out. The good thing about this place is that its literally situated by the main river. Means that most of attraction places are within walking distance. But because its in main area, its a bit hard to find a place to park the car nearby our hotel. I wish I took lots more pictures but because we were with 3 kids, I need to pick and choose where and how to take the photo without lingering around too long at one place. We walk around and headed to Melaka River Park and Cruise. We ride the cruise. Its rm13 for kids and rm18 for adults with MyCard (its Malaysian Identity Card) and it took 40mins around the city.
By the time we finish with the cruise its already dark. So we want to find dinner. We went to Jonker Walk. Its around 5mins walk from the cruise place. The place was full with people and there are lots of food stalls and random stuff you can find there. From food to souvenir and daily use stuff. There are lots of cafe and small restaurants as well. If you don't mind the noise you can sit and have a drink at one of those restaurant.
We had our dinner at one of local and halal restaurant that served 'Asam Pedas Ikan Merah Melaka' and the dessert 'Kuih Melaka'.
Its potato cheese and chilli.
Then to go home we decided to try on their 3 wheels bicycle (beca) around town for a bit. Cost us RM25 per 'beca'. Then straight home after that, we are ready for bed by 11pm. We have a baby with us so not gonna spend the night out.
The checking out time is at 12noon. Later than that you will need to pay penalty depends how late you are. We stay at the ground floor, easy access but means no window. I bet with window it will be with a good view. Love the interior and how they decorate the place.
They also have bar and restaurant at the back of the hotel, facing the river. Looks nice. If I ever got the chance to come back I will definitely stay here again and try their food and just chill.
Parking spots for the hotel guess.
We checked out around 10.30 and try to find a place to have breakfast. There are a lot of Chinese restaurant and cafes here, so feel a bit hesitant to eat there and the one we know are confirm halal was pack and no where to park the car. So, we decide to go somewhere outside the main city, Roti Canai Arang. Its 2.5km from the main city and when we were there, the place was full with people. They have a lot of choice thats good. But I will say the food, its ok but I've tried better and the place, its not the cleanest. If you really want to eat local food and wont mind the chaos and cleanliness then you will be fine.
Hope you enjoy this and helpful in some way or another.
