Kennedy Town is one of my fave place to see a sunset. It nestled on the western shores of Hong Kong Island, is a captivating blend of old-world charm and modern vibrancy. But be aware, there usually lots of people who come here for the very exact reason.

Kennedy Town History

Named after Governor Arthur Edward Kennedy, the district has witnessed a remarkable transformation in recent years. While traditional tenement buildings evoke a sense of nostalgia, trendy eateries, craft beer bars, and artistic hubs infuse it with youthful energy. Its picturesque waterfront promenade offers breathtaking sunset views, making it a favorite spot for both locals and visitors. Kennedy Town caters to diverse tastes, from its foodie havens to its lively art scene and historic landmarks, including the iconic Red Bridge. This neighborhood stands as a testament to Hong Kong's dynamic evolution, where the past and the present harmoniously coexist, creating a unique and engaging atmosphere.

On this particular day, I was meeting a friend for a catch in the late lunch time in HKU area and decided to go on a walk. I was walking along the Western District Promenade which is 5 mins away and hang out there to read for almost an hour.

After that I feels like catching sunset is a good idea. So I walk to Kennedy Town through the Belcher Bay Promenade heading to % Arabica cafe. On the map, you can search %Arabica, Kennedy Town as a spot to watch the sunset.

The Sunset

Thankfully, it was a sunny clear day. So the sunset was beautiful. The sky was clear and super blue.

Such a treat to enjoy coffee with the sunset

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day!
