Happy Monday! Lets start the new weeks with new goals! So todays I will make a blog post about this apps that I have been talking about few times before. Hehe..
Carousell
The apps called Carousell. Its an app and website where people can buy and sell their stuff, either new or used. It has anything and everything that you want to buy or sell. You can find an individual, a personal shopper and a drop shipper in here. I love to buy my makeup stash from here because more often than usual you can get a good price out of the deal but you need to search, bargain it out and be careful about it. Why? I will let you know.Right from your Phone
The main reason why I love this apps so much its because it can be done right from your phone. While organizing or decluttering my stuff I can just snap photos of the items I want to sell and listing it right away.
But usually I prefer to snap all the items while I'm organizing, put aside the stuff in a bag or something and start listing it after I finish cleaning. It can take some times to do all that. Because then you need to add the details like the size, measurement, types, expired date, names and etc.
Buying
If you are a buyer, you need to be careful of a few things. One, Scammer. There are people out there living out their purpose to scam people. They usually lied about the price and either or not its original products. Selling hundreds MYR for cheaper price and claiming its original. Then when you get the items its turn out to be imitation. If you want to buy a makeup let say Kat Von D Lip Lasting Liquid Lipstick, compare the price from few places. Like original price in US and from Sephora Malaysia. It cost you USD20 in US and MYR99 in Sephora Malaysia and if he/she sell it for MYR 50 saying its brand new and authentic from US, the chances are he/she is lying. Because even when you personally go to US and buy yourself it will cost you at least MYR80. And the imitation products only cost him/her for MYR8-10.
Two, Authenticity. My advice would be check the products first at Sephora if possible or at least buy one from there (Sephora do provide online shopping), so you will know how the authentic products should feels like. Then check out her/his previous buyer/seller review and items listing. Try to figure out what type of person he/she is from the listing. If he/she has similar things with different branded items there are possibility he/she selling the authentic products. For way more expensive items, like laptop, camera, handbags or even skincare, its better to meet up and confirm the originality and functionality yourself before proceed with the deal. Its better safe than sorry.
Three, Don't be a laggy buyer. This is surprisingly what a lot of people did. He/she ask about the products, with a lot of question. Ask you to take more photos or find the receipt or whatever then by the moment you give out your banking details he/she disappear. Just like that you hear nothing from them. This is kind of person really make me want to punch them on the face. I just don't understand why. Why you have to ask lots of question then just disappear after that. I you don't have the money to buy then just stop. Or keep checking on the items, because the seller might discounted it and you can buy it. But until then just stay away.

Selling
On the other hand if you are a seller, be transparent with what you are selling. How much its left, is it used or new, the size and measurement and either its authentic or not. There are people who lied about size and authenticity just to make sure their stuff get sold out.
I would advice you to provide sufficient pictures and info about the items you are selling. It's to avoid the buyer from asking you a lot of ridiculous questions and wasting your time. Unless if he/she wants to bargain and their offer is reasonable then you can entertain them.
ps: Sorry Im ranting here hahaha
You wont believe what people had offer me price for barely used and authentic items. Even when I offered half price (so I can sell it faster), he/she still asking for half price of it with free postage. I will say better don't deal with this type of people. I understand they don't have the money to spend on the item for full price but don't you think I need the money too and thats why I'm selling the stuff or its need to at least cover the shipping fee, the wrapping fee (since its makeup products you need to wrap it with bubble wrap and another wrapping plastic paper) and the train fee that I have to take to go to post it out.

Pricing
Be reasonable with the price you are offering either you are a buyer or seller.
Don't put the price too high if its used items and left only 30-40%. Because there are cases where people lying to the face like put the price higher than the retail store and said its barely used when the picture shows half of whats left. You get what I mean right?
At the same time avoid from offering a ridiculous low price for barely used, authentic and even already cheap items. You might as well just buy the imitation with 99.9% similarities items with your super cheap price. People sometimes can be rude and out of their common sense when it comes to money.
Authenticity and Expired Date
This part I mainly cover for the makeup and beauty categories. Its what I used the apps for most other than furniture and fashion items.
Be more careful about these, check with the owner and ask for pictures for clarification. Some products you can ask for products ID to check on their website when it was manufactured. Do a bit more research on what you want to buy. And it will be better to meet up and check it yourself.
