Salam and hi everyone,
Today I would like to bring you to Ap Lei Chau Promenade. Its a small island that connected through bridge at the south of Hong Kong. The name Ap Lei Chau is derived from its narrow and long shape that looks like the tounge of a duck. Here, there are people lives in the boats and their main transportation is boat as well. They have one boat that carry you to Aberdeen from the promenade. Of course you can take bus and taxi but I guess boat was the fastest. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but hopefully one fine day i’ll do it.
From my home, Hung Hom I took bus number 107 directly to Ap Lei Chau and I have to walk down the hill to go to the promenade and the city itself. You can also come here by train, directly to the city but for me its easier by bus.
Its a different side of HK that rarely for us to witness. It was raining when I was there. The weather was slightly cold and serene. Not crowded with people. Just few having their afternoon run and overall its very quite and calming. I'm hoping to go there again on sunny days and with friends so we will have our lunch or dinner that ever famous Aberdeen restaurant.
There are few small temples alongside the road. Unfortunately I cant read chinese so I dont know whats their name but Its pretty to look at.
Hope you enjoy it.
Love,
